Wetland Revegetation Site

Updated November 2023
Damien has been working with Tati Tati Traditional Owners to plant 30,000 wetland plants for a project funded by Swan Hill Rural City Council. The wetland is on the edge of the township of Robinvale (south east of Smythe Road).
The wetland will treat both stormwater and agricultural drainage to improve the quality of water flowing to the Millu (Murray River).

The project is also a way to heal Country and provide cultural and environmental outcomes for Traditional Owners. They planted culturally significant plants including Water Ribbons and Nardoo. Wildlife including ducks, herons, dotterels and frogs have already moved into the wetland as a place to forage for food and find a home.

This project continues until 2024. You can take a stroll around the wetland which is on Deans Road, Robinvale to watch it as it establishes.

Thanks to the Tati Tati mob for all of their hard work and to Ken Wellard and staff at Neangar Nursery and Frances Cincotta of Newstead Natives for growing all of the beautiful plants.
